There's nothing worse than people who place such emphasis on preseason rankings. Quick, name me the preseason top 5. If you looked it up, then go fuck yourself. But if you said Duke, MSU, K-state, Pitt, Ohio St. then you have a great memory and shouldn't be dumbing yourself down by reading this blog. Sure Duke, Pitt and Ohio St. are still there but MSU and K-state arent even in the fucking top 25 anymore! Are you kidding me?
And that's just the top 5. Let's widen our perspective and look at the next five to round out the top ten. UNC and Kentucky were ranked 9 and 10. Can the NCAA get off the Tar Heels dick please? Christ, yeah theyre making a comeback but no shot they shoulda been preseason ranked 9. And how bout Kentucky? That team is now at 22 and has a better shot of running a train on Ashley Judd than they do of winning on the road.
Now the teams that really prove my case: the Zags, Baylor, Illinois, UW, Butler, Memphis, Tennessee and VA Tech were all preseason ranked top 25. Now these guys are fighting for their tournament lives (god I hope Bruce Pearl can turn the Vols around real quick). Look i'm not all negative, Texas was preseason ranked 25 and now they're a favorite to cut down the nets. This isn't just for college basketball either. Auburn was preseason ranked 22 in college football and went on to win the 'ship. So the next preseason rankings that are published, do me a favor and don't get excited like a 12 year old chick at a Bieber concert-- he's got handles though... fuckin Bieber, there anything this kid can't do?
